Battery Creek baseball used a five-run sixth inning to break open a close game and roll to an 8-1 home win over Wade Hampton on Tuesday.
Luke Sanders threw five strong innings for the Dolphins, striking out 11 and allowing just one run on five hits without issuing a walk. Hunter Hollingsworth struck out two in a scoreless sixth, and Quade Matthews worked around three walks in a scoreless seventh.

Sanders also had a nice day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Riley Doray was 3-for-3 and scored twice, and Bradley Smith went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs.
The Dolphins (3-2) were back in action Wednesday at May River.
