Beaufort High girls lacrosse waited out a 45-minute lightning delay to finish off a 13-7 road win at Effingham County in a non-region matchup Wednesday.
After a sluggish start, the Eagles came to life in the second half and scored nine goals after the break to surge to the victory.
Amyah Todd led the scoring for Beaufort with five goals, Sophia Pellegrino had three goals and an assist, and Abbi Baise tallied two goals. Lillian Carr, Annabelle Hooper, and Holland Perryman added one goal each for the Eagles.
Todd and Sydney Lashley each gathered five groundballs and caused two turnovers, and Thalia Moultrie and Julia Pollitzer matched them with five groundballs each. Shelby Holstein made eight saves in goal for the Eagles.
Beaufort (6-5, 4-5) wraps up the regular season at home against Savannah Christian on April 8.
