HS GSOC: Sauls scores first hat trick as JPII blanks BA

John Paul II girls soccer traveled to Beaufort and dominated a region matchup against Beaufort Academy on Tuesday, blanking the Eagles 8-0. 

The Golden Warriors’ defense was consistently strong throughout the game, leaving the Eagles with limited opportunities to score. 

Sophomore Emma Sauls led the Golden Warriors offensively with her first hat trick of the season, while sophomore Paige Weniger and junior Brenna Frank both scored two goals, and captain Gin White had one goal and three assists. 

JPII’s defense was led by center backs White and Lauren Weniger, and keeper Trinity Grace Maxwell recorded two saves to preserve the clean sheet.

The Golden Warriors host Ashley Hall on April 12 after their spring break.
