John Paul II boys soccer traveled to Beaufort Academy on Tuesday and cruised past the Eagles with a 4-0 region win.
Anthony Hill opened the scoring opportunities for the Golden Warriors, scoring the first goal of the game after wrestling the ball away from the keeper. Mark Knight also scored a goal in the first half, finishing a perfect assist from Jackson Ogden. Ogden also had an impressive night running up and down the field and being relentless toward BA’s defenders.
Ben Quinty managed to score the third goal of the first half with a left-footed shot, leaving the Eagles’ defenders fooled when the ball hit the net and giving the Golden Warriors and insurmountable 3-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, Malone Kinard-Huisinger capped the scoring with the help of a Collin Anfinson assist. Evan Slusne recorded eight saves for a clean sheet for JPII.
JPII (7-1, 3-0) will travel to Colleton Prep in another region matchup after their spring break on April 15.
