Beaufort High boys tennis earned a huge Region 7-4A win Tuesday, beating visiting Hilton Head High 5-2 in a hard-fought match.
Graeme Angus had a big day in the No. 1 spot for the Eagles, winning his singles match 6-2, 6-0 and teaming with Diego Alvarez for a victory at No. 1 doubles.
Beaufort’s Tucker Martin rallied after losing the first set to pick up a critical victory at No. 3 singles, and the Eagles also got key wins from No. 4 Bodie Daniel and the No. 2 doubles team of Joseph Combs and Witt Compton.
Brent Geist (No. 2) and Moses Grant (No. 5) both earned wins for the Seahawks, with Geist coming back after dropping a second-set tiebreaker to win the third set.
The Eagles (3-1, 3-0) travel to Lucy Beckham for another key region contest Friday.
The Seahawks (2-1, 2-1) travel to May River for a region match Thursday.
