Two PGA Tour stars who fell just short of claiming a tartan jacket last June will be back for another shot. Daniel Berger and Sergio Garcia, a pair of top-five finishers from the 2020 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, are the latest players who have committed to play at Harbour Town Golf Links from April 12-18.
Berger and Garcia join a strong field led by South Carolina native Dustin Johnson, the world’s top-ranked player as well as past RBC Heritage champions and fellow Team RBC ambassadors Webb Simpson, Jim Furyk, Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell and Brandt Snedeker. Also committed are top Englishmen Paul Casey, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, and Tyrrell Hatton.
Berger is ranked 15th in the World Golf Rankings and earned his fourth victory on the PGA Tour at the 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He won by two strokes over Maverick McNealy after sinking a 30-foot, 7-inch eagle putt on the 72nd hole. The Florida native finished last year’s RBC Heritage tied for third and will be making his fourth start at Harbour Town.
Garcia began playing golf at the age of three and turned professional after shooting the lowest amateur score at the 1999 Masters. He has carded 11 victories on the PGA Tour, most recently at the 2021 Sanderson Farms Championship, where he birdied the 72nd hole to win by one stroke. It was his first win since the 2017 Masters. The Spaniard also has earned 20 international victories. He finished last year’s RBC Heritage tied for fifth place and will be making his fifth start at Harbour Town.
The 53rd annual RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing will take place April 12-18. The tournament will be played with limited spectators and with a number of new protocols to keep everyone safe amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
