Anna Ferrebee dazzled with five goals, and Hilton Head High girls lacrosse bounced back Friday with a dominant 13-5 home win over James Island.
Sofia Cavano added three goals while scooping up five ground balls, Sarah Kate Shupp and Bailey Olive netted a pair of goals, and Brooke Simons scored one to go along with two assists and three takeaways.
“We settled in and we got a lot of scoring opportunities, ” Ferrebee said. “We really focused in practice this week on ground balls and scoring and worked really hard.”
Ella Christie shined in the midfield, picking up seven ground balls and winning five draws while Olive controlled four and added an assist. Mae Williams anchored the Seahawk defense, and Megan Rickenback made three saves in goal.
“Despite over a week since we last played, our offense was able to find a nice rhythm and create a number of scoring opportunities,” HHIHS coach Kara Cooke said. “We continue to improve and put the pieces together, which is exciting as we head into the second half of our schedule.”
Hilton Head (4-2) travels to May River on Monday for a rematch with the Sharks.
