A school record fell at Beaufort Academy on Friday, as Mike’Ala Washington poured in 34 points to lead the Eagles to a 72-27 shellacking of visiting Colleton Prep.
Washington broke the school record for points in a game, racking up 34, and Chase Vaigneur followed up with 10 of her own. Eight other Eagles made their way into the scoring column.

The Eagles controlled the game from the opening tip, starting on an 18-0 run and never letting up.
Washington was in command, putting up 29 of her 34 in the first 3 quarters of the game. She sunk four three-pointers en route to surpassing Miranda Weslake’s mark of 32 points.
Beaufort Academy (11-7, 6-2) travels to Colleton Prep tonight for a rematch.
