HSBBB: Trojans bounce Bobcats, set up showdown with Seahawks

James Island’s boys made quick work of visiting Bluffton on Monday, winning 89-57 to set up a region-title showdown with Hilton Head High on Wednesday.

Bailey Wiseman poured in 29 points in three quarters of work to lead four Trojans in double digits. Jaden Scott and Cohen Gaskins added 12 each, and Mathew Ogiba chipped in with 10.

The Bobcats kept it close for a quarter, trailing by two after the first eight minutes, but the Trojans turned up the heat in the second quarter. Wiseman and Scott combined for 22 in the quarter as James Island jolted to a 43-26 halftime lead and cruised from there.

Jaylin Linder scored 15 points, Eric Eastham added 12, and Tre’Von Brown had 11 for the Bobcats.

Bluffton (2-7, 1-7) wraps up the regular season at Lucy Beckham on Wednesday before opening the region tournament on Friday.
