Myra Smith posted a game-high 13 points while Kiara Wilson added six as the Battery Creek girls basketball team got back in the win column Tuesday night defeating region foe Oceanside Collegiate Academy 41-33.
The Dolphins found themselves in an early hole being down 11-4 following the first quarter. But the offense found the touch in the second, dropping 15 points and holding the Landsharks to only nine. Creek’s defense picked it up in the second half, keeping OCA to only 13 points the remainder of the game.

“The game was very close until the fourth quarter,” said coach Lonnie Kluttz. “We started pressing and caused a ton of turnovers, which put them into foul trouble. Our defense saved us tonight.”
Battery Creek outscored the Landsharks 23-13 during a strong second half to move into position to make a run at one of the two playoff spots from Region 8-3A.
Creek (5-5, 3-2) returns home to the Palace to square off against North Charleston at 6 p.m. Friday.
