More than two weeks off didn’t do anything to stop the momentum of the Whale Branch girls, who rolled to a 66-20 win at St. John’s on Tuesday in their first game since Jan. 16.
The undefeated Warriors raced out to a 22-7 lead after one quarter and extended the margin to 34-9 at halftime, cruising to a convincing win.
Zhani Thompson led four Warriors in double figures with 16 points, while Kynew Barnwell added 14, Jazmin Diaz had 13, and Erin Rivers contributed 11. Layla Love added eight points for Whale Branch.
Kynaja Fludd scored 12 points to lead the Islanders.
Whale Branch (8-0, 3-0) hosts Baptist Hill on Friday.
