HSBBB: Golden Warriors shake off rust with hard-fought win over HHCA

John Paul II’s boys returned to action for the first time in 15 days with a 43-36 region win over Hilton Head Christian Academy on Saturday at Island Recreation Center.

The Golden Warriors spoiled the Eagles’ debut on their temporary home court with a dominant defensive effort.

Jeremiah Young had a team-high 11 points to go with five rebounds and three steals for JPII, while Malone Kinard-Huisinger added 10 points and eight rebounds in his return from injury, and Austin McIntosh chipped in with nine points and six rebounds. 

JP Peduzzi scored nine points, and Isaiah Anderson added eight to lead the Eagles.

JPII (8-2, 3-1) plays at Beaufort Academy on Tuesday.

HHCA (5-9, 2-5) plays at Beaufort Academy on Wednesday.
