HSGBB: HHCA gets back to winning ways with rout of Patriots

Hilton Head Christian Academy’s girls got back on track after suffering their first loss of the season, routing Pinewood Christian 57-22 on Friday. 

Two nights after losing to SCISA 3A power Cardinal Newman to snap their 31-game winning streak dating to December 2019, the Eagles limited the Patriots to one field goal in the first half to take a commanding 33-9 halftime lead before getting the reserves key playing time in the second half.

Devon Yarde led HHCA with 12 points, Dior Shelton added nine, and Skylar Smith had eight. Abby Peduzzi and Mary Yanker each had seven in a balanced offensive effort.

HHCA (15-1, 4-0) hosts John Paul II at the Island Recreation Center at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
