Hilton Head Christian Academy star Dior Shelton surpassed the 1,000-point mark in her career to lead the Eagles to a convincing 59-21 win at Pinewood Prep on Tuesday as HHCA improved to 11-0.
Shelton became the fifth player in program history to score 1,000 points at HHCA with a 3-pointer in the second quarter, joining Ziara Doe (1,837), Macee Tamminen (1,299), Brielle McCarthy (1,260), and Jossie Frazier (1,240). Jasmine Campbell also hit the 1,000-point mark for HHCA last season after starting her career at Hilton Head High.
Shelton finished with 14 points in limited minutes, as the Eagles raced out to a 17-4 lead and led 32-11 at halftime.
Molly Smith added 12 points for the Eagles, while Devon Yarde, Skylar Smith, and Kenzie Buchter each had nine.
HHCA (11-0) faces one of the toughest tests remaining on its schedule when it travels to Calvary Day in Savannah on Thursday. The Eagles beat the Cavaliers 53-49 at home on Nov. 30.
