Battery Creek’s girls started off new coach Lonnie Kluttz’s tenure on a high note Tuesday, winning 41-32 at Colleton County to open the season.
The backcourt duo of Myra Smith and Kiara Wilson led the way for the Dolphins, scoring nine points each. Wilson added five steals, and Smith had four.

Iesha Shaw added eight points for Battery Creek, Noni Singleton contributed seven points and four rebounds, Sophia Felix collected four points and a team-high six steals, and Emonee Johnson had five steals and five boards.
The Dolphins (1-0) travel to Whale Branch at 6 p.m. Friday.
