HSVB: Warriors come up short in region opener

Whale Branch volleyball opened region play with a tough loss to visiting Charleston Math & Science on Tuesday.

The Warriors were competitive in all three sets but came up short each time, falling 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 26-24).

Erin Rivers led the Warriors with 11 kills, while Zhani Thompson added five, and Jahmaisha Green had four. Danasia Williams dished out 16 assists, Jada Jenkins served six aces, and Trinity Heyward anchored the defense with 11 digs. 

Whale Branch (1-2, 0-1) continues region play at Cross at 6 p.m. Thursday.
