HSVB: Dolphins still perfect after sweep of THA

Hilton Head Prep’s volleyball team continued its incredible start to the season, improving to 8-0 with a three-set sweep at Thomas Heyward on Tuesday.

Madison Denny and Ashley Wilmot led the Dolphins’ attack in the 3-0 (25-7, 25-18, 25-14) win, compiling seven kills and two aces apiece. Gabby Bettez distributed 10 assists and Ella Clark led nine in an efficient offensive performance, while Haylee Hopman (17), Annie Braun (12), and Wilmot (10) each had double-digit digs.

The Rebels were without outside hitter Keleigh Bowers  due to an ankle injury, so Sydney Butler led the attack with three kills and added six digs. Amelia Bonds collected five assists and seven digs, and Abby Bennett had 12 digs and two aces.

HHP (8-0, 3-0) hosts rival Hilton Head Christian Academy for a region matchup at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday. THA drops to 0-3 in region play and will look for its first region victory at home Thursday against John Paul II.
