HSVB: HHCA sweeps JPII in region opener

Hilton Head Christian Academy volleyball opened region play with a road sweep of John Paul II on Thursday. 

The Eagles snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-15) win over the Golden Warriors, who put together a tough performance but couldn’t keep pace with HHCA’s balanced attack.

HS VOLLEYBALL COVERAGE PRESENTED BY

Amelia Auld spread the love around, dishing out 33 assists for the Eagles, as Abby Peduzzi racked up 13 kills, Kate Booth added 11, and Mackenzie Buchter contributed seven. Ella Klepchick led the defense with eight digs, and Anna Scott served six aces.

Sadie Moulton led JPII with three aces, and Caroline Gilmour had a solid night at the net with three kills. Cayce Graves also put together a strong effort for JPII. 

HHCA (3-6, 1-0) hosts Colleton Prep for a region contest at 6 p.m. Monday. JPII travels to Savannah for a rematch of Tuesday’s five-set win against Veritas Academy at 5 p.m. Friday.
