T&F: Robinson, relays lead Sharks at Sandlapper

DJ Robinson was named the meet’s outstanding track athlete and May River’s relay teams had a big day Saturday, helping the Sharks finish third among 15 teams in the boys standings and sixth out of 18 in the girls ranks at the Sandlapper Classic at West Ashley. 

Robinson swept the 110- and 400-meter hurdles and helped the Sharks win the 4×100 relay to earn top track athlete honors. May River’s boys also won the 4×400 and 4×800 relays and placed third in the distance medley relay. Owen Andrews also had a strong showing, placing third in the 1,600 and fourth in the 800. 

May River’s girls also picked up two relay wins, taking the 4×800 and DMR, and Chynna Sneed placed third in the shot put.
