GLAX: Beaufort High opens with big win

Beaufort High’s girls lacrosse team opened their season with a 17-5 win over visiting Effingham County on Monday.

The Eagles didn’t waste any time scoring, putting their first goal on the board just 35 seconds into the match and maintaining the offensive intensity throughout the night.

Abby Baise and Katelyn Carter each scored five goals, while Lindseay Breaux and Amyah Todd had two apiece, and Isabel Vega, Holland Perryman, and Sophia Pellegrino added one each.

Behind a strong defensive effort from Sydney Lashley and goalie Morgan Wright, who made eight saves, the Eagles held the Rebels scoreless in the first half.
