John Paul II’s boys continued their late-season surge Tuesday, closing the regular season with a 54-44 home win over Thomas Heyward.
Jeremiah Young scored 16 points and added three steals, and Reco Anderson and Jackson Ogden had 10 points apiece to lead the Golden Warriors to their third consecutive win.
Zack Black scored 16 points, and Preston Humbert added 15 to lead the Rebels.
JPII (12-10, 7-5) faces Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach at 3 p.m. Friday at Pinewood Prep in the first round of the SCISA 2A state tournament. THA finishes 6-14 overall and 2-10 in region play.
