Beaufort High wrestling stormed into the Class 4A Lower State semifinals with a 58-24 home win over Airport on Saturday.
The teams traded punched early in the match, as the score was tied at 18 after six bouts, but the Eagles recorded pins in seven of the next nine matches to take control.
Matthew Durrance started the run with a pin at 138, and Kaywan Johnson, James Dagin, Michael Cenci, Jeremiah Simmons, John Legree, Degin Lowery, and Payton Bayne also recorded pins. Colton Phares earned a major decision, and Gary Bayne won by forfeit.
The Eagles are back in action Monday, traveling to North Myrtle Beach with the winner advancing to the Lower State championship match Wednesday.
