The Whale Branch girls maintained their hold on second place in Region 5-2A with a convincing 43-31 home win over Allendale-Fairfax on Friday.
Kynew Barnwell scored 15 points, Zhani Thompson added 12, and Heaven Grant had eight — all in the third quarter — to lead the Warriors.

The Warriors led by four at halftime before Grant’s hot streak in the third quarter helped them open up a double-digit advantage. Thompson took over in the fourth, scoring all nine Whale Branch points in the quarter to help seal the win.
