Dawson Coleman erupted for 31 points as Beaufort Academy’s boys ran out to a big lead and held on for a 47-43 win at John Paul II on Tuesday.
The Eagles led 24-8 at halftime after limited the Golden Warriors to one point in the second quarter, but JPII stormed back in the second half and had a chance to win until BA’s Sully Gay iced the game with two free throws down the stretch.
Reco Anderson and Jeremiah Young each scored 11 points, and CJ Knight added 10 for JPII.
