Ridgeland-Hardeeville’s boys opened Region 8-3A play with an impressive 56-34 home win over May River on Tuesday.
Mauriq Singleton led a balanced effort for the Jaguars with 13 points, nine rebounds, and three steals, as RHHS used its defensive pressure to frustrate the Sharks. Dennis Holmes collected nine points, nine boards, three assists, and three steals, while Rashard Baker had nine points, three assists, and three steals, and Brandon Howard added seven points, five assists, and four steals.
Freshman Gavin Blocker led the Sharks with 10 points. The Jaguars limited May River leading scorer Harry Cash to seven points.
