The Whale Branch boys moved up one spot to No. 4 in Class 2A in the latest S.C. Basketball Coaches Association rankings released Thursday.
The Warriors are off to a 9-3 start, and they have avenged two of their three losses by defeating Ridgeland-Hardeeville and Wade Hampton (ranked third in Class 3A). Their third defeat came on the road against SCISA powerhouse Porter-Gaud.
Led by big men Shawn Chisolm (16.1 points, 7.3 rebounds) and Nick Pringle (14.3 points, 10.3 rebounds), the Warriors have wins over Class 4A Beaufort High and Class 5A Chapin.
Whale Branch hosts Beaufort in the rematch at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
