May River’s girls must have stored up some energy during their week off, because the Sharks got after it Tuesday in their return to the court at Beaufort High.
The Eagles couldn’t handle the Sharks, who rolled to a dominant 49-21 win in the non-region matchup.

Olivia Peluso scored 11 points to lead a balanced May River attack, as 12 different players scored for the Sharks, who shut down the Eagles out of the gate and raced to a 13-2 lead after one quarter.
The Eagles heated up in the second quarter, scoring on turnovers and playing good defense. They limited the Sharks to nine points in the second quarter to pull within 22-14 at halftime, but May River was able to pull away in the second half.
Layla Warren led the Eagles with 11 points.
