Bluffton’s girls used a 31-point second quarter to build a big lead and rolled to a 64-45 win over Class 5A River Bluff in the first round of the YC Winborn Holiday Classic on Thursday in Rock Hill.
Eighth-grader Tacoya Heyward poured in 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting to go along with six rebounds, six assists, and six steals, and Tatyana Aiken collected 16 points, 14 rebounds, five steals, and four assists to lead the Bobcats. Samari Mitchell added eight points, 10 rebounds, and three steals for Bluffton.
The Bobcats trailed 12-5 after one quarter but outscored the Gators 31-9 in the second quarter and extended the lead to 53-30 after three.
