HSGBB: Barnwell, Warriors keep rolling vs. Creek

The Whale Branch girls used a strong defensive effort to compensate for a sluggish second half at the offensive end, holding on for a 40-28 win at Battery Creek on Saturday.

Kynew Barnwell was the only Warrior who had a hot hand offensively, scoring 16 points including a half-court buzzer-beater to make it 26-11 at halftime. Jazmin Diaz added seven points for Whale Branch.

The Dolphins played strong interior defense on Zhani Thompson, limiting her to four points, but they couldn’t manage much offense of their own.

Myra Smith, Starr Reed, and Trezure Siplin each had five points to lead Battery Creek.
