HSGBB: Beaufort High gets defensive in win over Creek

Beaufort High’s girls picked up their first win of the season Friday, defeating visiting Battery Creek 38-26 in a non-region rivalry matchup. 

Sequoia Smalls scored 14 points, and Layla Warren added 10 to lead the Eagles at the offensive end, while Nyja Deville scored six points and helped Beaufort control the boards.

Myra Smith, Starr Reed, and Nanotchka Singleton each scored five points to lead the Dolphins. 

Beaufort (1-2) travels to Ridgeland-Hardeeville at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The Dolphins (0-2) host Bluffton at 6 p.m. Saturday.
