Nine at HHP sign with colleges

Nine Hilton Head Prep student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level next season.

Five golfers and four tennis players formalized their college plans at HHP on National Signing Day, the first day of the signing period for high school athletes in sports other than football.

Fresh off leading the Dolphins’ newly-formed girls golf team to the SCISA state championship and winning individual medalist honors, Sophia Burnett signed with Furman, while boys golfers Grant Griswold (Manhattan College), JT Herman (Georgia), Thomas Lamb (UNC Greensboro), and AJ Gilpin (Lehigh) also inked their letters of intent.

Four HHP students are also going on to play tennis at the next level, as Winslow Huth (SMU), Robert Harrison Janes (Penn State), James Tracy (Ohio State), and Lauren Waddles (Samford) all signed Wednesday.
