May River volleyball continued its trek into uncharted territory with a sweep of Aynor in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs Monday.
The Sharks rolled to a 3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-13) victory over the Blue Jackets to move into the third round for the first time in the program’s four-year history.
Addison Black led a strong May River attack with 14 kills, and Lillian Long added eight.
The Sharks travel to Gilbert for a matchup of region champions in the Lower State semifinals Wednesday.
