May River’s girls golf team finished off a great season with a fourth-place finish at the Class 3A state championship Tuesday at Coastal Carolina University’s Hackler Course.
After shooting 325 in Monday’s first round, the Sharks carded a team total of 337 on Tuesday to maintain the No. 4 spot on the leaderboard.
Oceanside Collegiate claimed the team title with a remarkable 36-hole total of 6-over-par 582, beating runner-up Chesnee (613) by 31 shots. Gilbert was third at 647, followed by the Sharks (662).
Sydney Bowes (78-80) led the way for May River, tying for 12th, while Kylie Bowes (76-86) was 21st, Hannah Harris (168) tied for 29th, Robbin Zetrouer (86-88) tied for 37th, and Hailey Aipperspatch (107-89) tied for 60th.
