Hilton Head Christian Academy put on another offensive display Friday, rolling to a 62-33 win at Orangeburg Prep to take control of the SCISA Region 2-2A title race.
Hayden Shinn rushed for 71 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 312 yards and three TDs, and Daniel Harrington added three rushing touchdowns and an interception to lead the Eagles. Shinn threw a touchdown pass to Jace Blackshear and two to JP Peduzzi, who had eight catches for 179 yards.
The Eagles led 29-14 at halftime but had trouble putting the Indians away. It was 42-27 late in the third quarter, and the Indians were driving when Cameron Strickland delivered what might have been the play of the game, scooping up an Orangeburg Prep fumble and racing 79 yards for a touchdown to make it a 21-point game.
The Eagles (6-1, 2-0) host Colleton Prep for a non-region game next Friday.
