HSFB: Bobcats can’t slow down Sumter

Bluffton wasn’t able to hang with the seventh-ranked team in Class 5A, as the Bobcats lost 70-21 to visiting Sumter on Friday.

The Gamecocks jumped out to a 21-0 lead before Rakim White returned a kickoff for a touchdown, providing a brief interruption to Sumter’s offensive clinic.

The Gamecocks extended the lead to 56-7 before White took another kickoff back for a TD just before halftime.

Joseph Najera added a 12-yard touchdown run for the Bobcats in the second half.

The Bobcats (1-4) travel to Richmond Hill (Ga.) next Friday.
