Hilton Head High snapped a two-game skid with an impressive performance Friday, beating visiting Ridgeland-Hardeeville 38-6.
Gaston Moore was 16-of-24 for 287 yards and three touchdown and rushed for another score for the Seahawks, who were in control from the start. Moore threw early touchdown passes to Dean Seelbach and Lavarus Brown, and Moore’s 1-yard plunge and Sam Summa’s 33-yard TD pass to Evan Elliott made it 28-0 at halftime.
Jacob Weaver added a 32-yard field goal to make it 31-0, and Moore connected with Elliott for a 47-yard TD in the fourth quarter. Elliott had three receptions for 100 yards and two TDs, Cole DeMarzo caught four passes for 112 yards, and Brown rushed for 91 yards on 15 carries.
The Seahawks’ defense rebounded from a tough game last week to keep the Jaguars out of the end zone all night, as Ridgeland-Hardeeville’s lone score came on Jordan Mikell’s 83-yard interception return.
The Seahawks (2-2) travel to Christ Church next Friday. The Jaguars (1-3) host Colleton County next week.
