HSFB: HHCA looks sharp in road win

Hilton Head Christian Academy clicked on both sides of the ball Friday at St. Andrew’s, cruising to a 39-13 win over the Lions.

The game was tied at 7 early, but the Eagles took the lead on Jace Blackshear’s touchdown pass to Bobby Payne on a trick play, and they never looked back. It was 26-7 at halftime after Troy Chisolm’s fumble return for a score, and HHCA extended it to 39-7 in the fourth quarter before giving up a late score.

Hayden Shinn was 10-of-22 for 200 yards with four touchdowns and one interception, throwing a pair of touchdown passes to JP Peduzzi and one each to Daniel Harrington and Blackshear.

Chisolm had four tackles for loss (six total) and recovered two fumbles — returning one for a touchdown — to highlight a strong defensive performance by the Eagles. Kent Camp had eight tackles (four for loss) and a sack, Robert Hall had eight tackles (one for loss), and Eli Minton had two of the team’s four interceptions. Payne and Cameron Strickland also had picks.

HHCA (3-1) travels to Dorchester Academy next Friday.
