Hilton Head Island’s Savannah Hylton tied for top amateur honors and tied for second overall at the Women’s S.C. Golf Association’s South Carolina Women’s Open this weekend.
The 16-year-old Hylton shot 2-over-par 218 over 54 holes on the Oceanwinds Course at Seabrook Island Club, tying Angela Aung as the low amateur and finishing six shots behind champion Sydney Legacy, a professional from Anderson.
Hilton Head Island’s Rosie Jones won the senior professional division, carding rounds of 69 and 70 to win by 18 shots.
