Another local team punched its ticket to the SCISA soccer state championships Thursday, as Hilton Head Prep’s girls advanced to the SCISA 2A final with a convincing 6-0 win over visiting John Paul II.
Caitlin Heidel posted the shutout in goal behind a dominant back line of Ashlyn Parsick, Haley Majors, Mackenzie Joyner, and Olivia Light, who denied the Golden Warriors scoring chances.
Ansleigh Crenshaw and Sadie Callen each scored two goals, while Ryan Dailey had a goal and assist and Haley Majors scored the final goal by bending in a corner kick. Ella Clark had two assists, and Kaitlyn Adkins added an assist.
The Dolphins (17-3-1) will face Oakbrook Prep for the state title at 10 a.m. Saturday at Porter-Gaud in Charleston. JPII finishes with a 14-6-2 record.
