Hilton Head High’s girls lacrosse team closed the regular season with a 12-7 win over visiting May River on Thursday.
The Seahawks built a 9-2 halftime lead and held off the Sharks’ charge in the second half.
Lexi Locker scored foru goals, Emma Grace Walters added three, Asa Caron and Anna Ferrebee had two each, and Lily Joy Tothero scored one for the Seahawks. Marlee Brummer made nine saves to help preserve the lead.
M. Kaelin scored three goals, and Venessa Matuzak, Daniela Jimenez, M. Costilla, and Yael Echeverria each added one for the Sharks.
The Seahawks (8-5) will be the No. 8 seed and host the ninth-seeded Sharks (7-9-1) again Tuesday in the first round of the SCHSL Class 4A playoffs.
