Low Country Volleyball Club’s 16 National team claimed the gold bracket title at the Palmetto Regional Championships this weekend in Charlotte.
LCVC went 7-1 on the weekend, including three consecutive tough three-set victories in the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals to finish atop the field of 44 teams.
The 16 National team is made up of players from six area schools: Marissa Major (Bluffton HS), Makenna Mason (St. Francis), Bella Misko, Kenzie Ryan and Brooke Simons (Hilton Head High), Kate Booth, Ady O’Grady and Dior Shelton (Hilton Head Christian), Ashley Wilmot (Hilton Head Prep), and Kayla Arnold (South Effingham HS). The team is coached by Katlyn McCormick and Andrew Dale.
LCVC’s other teams also made a strong showing, as 18 National finished fifth among 22 teams, 14 National was ninth among 67 teams, and 15 National was ninth among 46 teams and won the silver bracket. The 14 Power team finished fifth in the Power gold division.
