John Paul II’s boys jumped out to a big early lead and coasted to a 5-2 win over Ridgeland-Hardeeville on Monday.
Gabe Orta-Carrillo scored his first career hat trick, and Sebastian Laverde added two goals and three assists for the Golden Warriors. Jonathan Barragan made nine saves in goal and notched an assist for JPII, which led 4-0 at halftime.
JPII (5-4-1) opens region play Thursday at Hilton Head Prep.
