Thomas Heyward Academy spoiled the debut of Beaufort Academy’s softball rebirth with an 18-4 home win Thursday.
Gracie Wade struck out four and walked one to earn the win in the circle and went 2-for-3 with two runs for the Rebels. Ivy Bryan had another big night at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a homer, four RBIs and three runs, Amelia Bonds was 3-for-3 with three RBIs, and Jana Christian was 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs.
Emily Wilson was 2-for-3 and scored a run, and Anna Grace Dennis was 1-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs for the Eagles, who played their first varsity softball game since 2008.
THA (4-1) travels to Calhoun Academy on March 22. BA (0-1) travels to John Paul II on Tuesday.
