Beaufort High stayed undefeated in regular-season play with an 11-1 win in five innings against visiting Thomas Heyward on Thursday.
Oliver Holmes struck out 10 and limited the Rebels to one run and three hits in an abbreviated complete game and went 1-for-3 with three RBIs at the plate for the Eagles. Jacob Anderson and Paul Winland each had two hits and an RBI, Luke Londono added two hits, and Reed Reichel drove in four runs.
Chipper Hammond was 2-for-2 for the Rebels. Louie Smith took the loss, allowing six runs over four innings with nine strikeouts.
The Eagles (8-0) play a three-game Region 7-4A series against Hilton Head High next week, traveling to Hilton Head on Monday and Friday and hosting the Seahawks on Wednesday. The Rebels (3-4) travel to Hilton Head Christian Academy for a region game Monday.
