Thomas Heyward softball opened its season with a wild 14-13 win over Beaufort High on Monday.
Daniella Dudley went 3-for-5 at the plate and went the distance on the mound for the Rebels, striking out eight and walking four.
Ivy Bryan went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Keleigh Bowers was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Bailey Brown was 2-for-4, and Abigail Hayes drove in three runs for THA.
Essence Champion was 3-for-3 with a double and a homer, Lilly Bearden was 3-for-5, and Madison Sanchez was 2-for-4 to lead the Eagles at the plate.
THA (1-0) travels to BHS for a rematch Wednesday.
