HSBB: HHCA Boys Hang On To Beat Pee Dee

Hilton Head Christian Academy’s boys held on for a 60-58 win over Pee Dee Academy in the first round of the SCISA 2A state tournament Saturday in Sumter.

JP Peduzzi had a monster game with 28 points and 12 rebounds — including a game-winning put-back with 3 seconds left — and Floyd Hargrove added 17 points to lead the Eagles.

“Heck of a team effort today,” HHCA coach Jon Zolnik said. “It came down to free throws, which we’ve been preaching from day one. These kids have earned it. I couldn’t be more proud of them.”

HHCA (8-17) will face top-seeded Shannon Forest at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson Hall in Sumter.
