Hilton Head Christian Academy’s girls claimed their 17th consecutive victory Tuesday, beating Beaufort Academy 62-41 in the championship game of the SCISA Region 1 Tournament at John Paul II.
HHCA dominated the first half defensively, leading 24-6 after one quarter and 42-10 at halftime before BA was able to close the gap somewhat in the second half.
Jossie Frazier scored 17 points, Brielle McCarthy added 15, and Dior Shelton had 13 to lead HHCA (20-3), which awaits its seed in the SCISA Class 2A state tournament, which begins Friday in Sumter.
Amelia Huebel scored 16 points and EmilyAnn Hiers added 12 to lead BA (14-8), which awaits his opponent in the first round of the SCISA Class 1A state tournament.
