USCB’s softball team continued its undefeated start with a doubleheader sweep at St. Andrew’s (N.C.) on Saturday, winning 11-0 and 7-4.
Reigning Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week Abby Pac pitched four innings of one-hit ball and Kinsey Sords pitched a scoreless fifth in game 1, and the Sand Sharks broke it open with a seven-run fifth inning to invoke the eight-run mercy rule. Kayla Boyle was 3-for-4 with three runs, Natassja Hatcher was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Alexa Moore, Shania Dominguez, and Haley Hawkins each drove in two runs for USCB.
Boyle and Domingue each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Taylor Boykin was 3-for-4 with two runs, and Canyon Crosby hit a solo homer in game 2. Maria Molloseau allowed two runs (one earned) over 4 1/3 innings to earn the win.
The Sand Sharks (6-0) host Brewton-Parker for a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Friday.
