May River’s girls picked up a big region win with a 32-22 home victory over Ridgeland-Hardeeville on Tuesday.
Chynna Sneed scored 18 points — 13 in the first half — to lead the Sharks, who used stifling defense to build a 17-8 halftime lead and a 23-10 advantage after three periods.
Gracyn Drury, Olivia Peluso, and Lindsey Olds each added four points for the Sharks.
Shanteria Brown scored seven points and Lenasia Singletary added four for the Jaguars.
May River (9-5, 2-0) travels to rival Bluffton for a non-region game on Saturday. The Jaguars (2-9, 0-1) host Battery Creek for a region contest Friday.
