Hilton Head High’s girls claimed their third consecutive victory Tuesday, outlasting host Whale Branch 59-52 in overtime.
The Seahawks took a six-point lead to the fourth quarter, but the Warriors roared back in the final period to force overtime. Hilton Head High locked in on defense in the extra period, though, outscoring Whale Branch 10-3.
Freshman Kenzie Ryan posted a triple-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 steals, and Trinity Feltner scored a career-high 18 points for the Seahawks, who matched last season’s win total with their fourth victory. Miley Ray added 13 points and Kristen Fielding had eight for HHIHS.
Kynew Barnwell scored 30 points and Sidney Fulton added nine for Whale Branch.
The Seahawks (4-3) travel to May River on Friday. The Warriors (1-3) travel to Wade Hampton on Wednesday.
